Headache rack specs

No regulation on having tape or distance from cab (unless the headache rack obscures the back of the cab, then place reflectors on headache rack as if it were the back of the cab)

As far as mounting the only one that exists is "must be mounted in a workmanlike manner" - translation, "mount it well enough that it doesnt look like its going to fall off.

If you have air ride, i would make sure as the air goes up and down it doesnt get closer than 3 inches from the back of the cab.

As for raising it, i wouldnt recomend it, any extra peices of material that lengthens your ubolts will mean that the rack has more leverage and increases potential for wobble. At most i might consider a small rubber shim strip to keep aluminum from touching the frame.

 

Im no help for abs diagnostic, youll need which abs manufacturer, and some way to pull the code its throwing. On many trailers, its a simple blink code you can trigger at key on power. (For help on the forum, probably a year, make and model would be helpful)

I would try to eliminate the trailer from the equation first though if you havent already

 

A hard plastic can be substituted for the rubber.
strips of dollar store cutting board work great, as does strips of junk plastic mudflap.
The U-bolts also should be isolated from the aluminum of the legs, more plastic or even rubber hose can work.

 

Everyone should have one of these if you don’t have an ELD that sends you codes or if you’re looking to buy a truck.
