54k coil.....

Next, we’ll be hauling that 54K single in a dry van, with no roof.

 

Back in the day we could load a big coil in an open top walking floor, cover it in sawdust or cotton seed, then unload the product first.

Keep a wheel chock in front of the coil and let the floor unload it. I was working on designing a walking floor liftgate until Transcraft made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I was about to disrupt the open deck industry.

 

Yea, it's time for waders, muck boots not offering the level of protection needed in this post.

 

Back when I used to haul cars outta Detroit, sometimes I'd get everything off at one dealership I'd had a empty truck. I could swing in to North American stainless in Ghent, KY grab 2 or 3 stainless coils to go back north. Those paid really well and made for a nice round.

The last time I saw him, he was running team over there on Cabbage. He was standing on the valve cover of a 3408 Cat with a breaker bar in one hand and a can of ether in the other.

His truck was out of fuel and he was running late so he was barring the motor over and spraying ether while his co-driver steered. He passed me before I got to the top of the hill and then he ran out of sight.

 

That was right after his secret missions into Cambodia.

 

Last time I saw him he was bang shifting a 9670 international out on military highway in Chesapeake Virginia. He was pulling a wheelie when he came out of forth.

 

I heard he help story right for Jack Reacher movie series from the cab of his 4070 with that 315 cat that out pulled big trucks.
