I have one mounted on the neck of my trailer. Actually it’s the full size box.

That’s the one I have except it’s the 48”. It pretty tuff. I blew a drive tire and knocked the hell out of it. It still works. Just bent up good.

E0B5A73C-D700-47DD-A246-F09F9DFFC535.png Got this off craigslist instead. They’re about $600 new. Open the lid, and the front panel is hinged, opens up, lays onto the cat walk. Original plan was to modify the tool box for a generator. Most are too tall to fit. Instead I have a generator box used for tools. Lol. Everything is a work in progress.

There is no way that could be true. Just simply due to the fact that emissions trucks do have emissions problems sometimes, by definition is would be impossible for a pre-emissions to have an emission related problem. Other than that the engines are all prone to the same issues, more stuff on a truck to go wrong equals more stuff to fail, simple as that.
I’d love to know how you spec a truck to be more reliable than a pre-emissions truck, because the EPA won’t let you spec a truck without tier 4 emissions.

I guess you would say an older car is more reliable than a new car?

That's apples to oranges. Old cars had points, carburetors and steering gears. Newer ones have electronic ignitions, fuel injection and rack & pinion steering

Nothing to it. You hang an APU off the frame and never idle it is how. You also try to avoid engines that are known to be trouble prone like a paccar or isx. I'm in a 2019 DD15 truck with 530,000 miles on it and no emissions problems ever so far, knock on wood. Now its had some other typical stuff but nothing out of the ordinary. I never idle this truck for more than about 5 minutes for any reason. I'm guessing the driver in it before me never did either. 9 times out of 10 when I set the brakes the key goes off. Emissions systems have come a long way since the awful days of 2010 or so.

At least a guy could fix most of that stuff in a parking lot if need be.
