A bit disappointed at the lack of variety and sitting time at Swift

They can't really begrudge you something that was put in place for you to use.
That Counter option is there to give you more control, and quite the opposite of companies that force dispatch.

    And lual is right.
Keep a good safety score, be on time... things are golden.

Mac 9 for controlling the timing of your loads, mac 22 for telling them when something makes you late.
Those two are our best friends.

Although, once you are out of CA you are in a different planning zone. All different planners for different parts of the country.

Unless you are in the same area all the time and deal with the same planners, going in to meet them doesn't really do much of anything.
    Too many drivers.

The one I am most familiar with is out of Edwardsville.
He plans me some good loads, some bad.
He is the nicest guy. Always very helpful when I actually talk with him. Bends over backwards to help.
But I doubt he would even know who I was if you asked him.

A good relationship with your DM, the other DM's in your terminal, the FM and TM...
Those are more helpful in every way.
But even those... I actually see them only a few times a year. I seldom get in to my terminal.

Contact someone in a supervisory capacity above your dispatcher and let them know you would like to transfer to another division. Be sure to get their name and ask them when they will have an answer for you. At the same time contact Swift recruiting and get info on the reefer division, do not let them know that you are a incumbent driver. See if everyone is singing from the same hymnal and go from there.

The Edwardsville planner may not know you personally but he knows your truck number. He knows you're reliable and will communicate if there are any issues.

The other is the planners talk. They will look out for each others favorite trucks.

    Moosetek13 and lual Thank this.

I like the idea of using hometime somewhere else, that will get you somewhere else atleast for a while. Also like a few have mentioned, its good you are getting steady loads as seems to be a bit dry out there. Also the advise of putting in time, making sure you arrive on-time and be safe. Alot of good information being shared.

I just got assigned a new driver leader like just a couple days ago and she seems to be a lot more on top of things and detail oriented than the last one. Last one was nice as a person but not so good with details. We'll see how it goes but I like how she handled the last two loads I had and she's on top of getting me routed to Ohio for my home time.

MSWS, Moosetek13 and NH Guy Thank this.

Hopefully she is on board with you wanting to stay out of Commiefornia.

No, I'm based out of Jurupa. I just seem to be routed to Stockton, Modesto and Lathrop a lot more often than anywhere else.

Thanks, and I have nothing against California, I just don't like staying in one place for very long (like, maybe max 3 years, LMAO)

    MSWS Thanks this.
