You should join FB, if for nothing else but to join that group. The group is private, so you’ll have to join. Being private minimizes spam.

You’re going to need a Volvo/Mack or Freightliner/Western Star, turbo compound engine, <2.20 gearing, solar/battery APU, and great driver discipline.

These are just some quick screen shots. I’ve seen one driver do 15mpg for a segment. There’s a company driver up in the same range, as well.

I don't think anybody on here is making those sort of claims but easily any aero truck beats out a hood by 2mpg without even trying and that's a lot of money out the smoke stacks. But in the end nobody's mind is going to be changed.

If you’re not in the group, then, you don’t know.

There is an app they use, showing percentages at what speeds, mpg over the segments, idle percentages, etc. They ARE doing 10mpg at 70+mph. I’ve seen real time video, with OBD data overlay, cruising at 85mph, and bouncing around 10mpg. Joel did an empty, video segment at 15mpg at 58mph, just to prove what his setup is capable of.

There are some who post up their load info in charts, with one driver posting a matrix chart with weight versus fuel mileages.

This is an example of one driver’s numbers.

Look at the average MPH in the screenshots I posted above. They’re doing it.

Highly fuel efficient specs with the latest bleeding edge options with no consideration for anything other than fuel economy. Usually running pedal coach, zero idling, whatever it takes. With that spec and a driver willing to put in the work, those numbers are absolutely real. Just know they're autistic about it, with more ways to nitpick a topic than the law allows.

Frankly most posts I don't have the patience for. I scroll past most of the discussions. That said, I agree with @ducnut it's worth joining and reading up now and then. I've adopted a few ideas from there with a positive outcome. They do post some neat stuff from time to time. Best approach it with an open mind and don't expect to agree with everything. My priorities are a little different, some of the people in that group will never accept that so I don't participate much.

Is it normal these days to go that heavy on the steers? I've been out of the game for a while but 12k was the limit I was taught.
