This Q & A source is updated frequently. It's a good short course on CSA 2010 from FMCSA!:biggrin_25514:

From what I have read, the main difference will be that DOT can monitor alot more carriers. Currently they can only audit about 10- 12% of the carriers. I do expect the insurance companies to come up with a magic score for the drivers, any scores over that magic number and they wont insure them, I guess time will tell.

From what I was told in the seminar my company made me attend, that your profile will be on the CSA website, it will be public info that anyone can pull up.

I posted an incorrect link this a.m. That link was for an earlier 26 Q's and A's article. It has grown to 72. The above link should get you there if you are interested.

    Try this link: http://csa2010.fmcsa.dot.gov/FAQs.aspx?role=MC
See questions/answers 5, 10, 19, 47, 50, and 54. I think personal info, regardless, is protected by the FOIA. I think there is an exception if FMCSA is doing a carrier on-site comprehensive investigation. See if you interpret this the same way I do.

Insurance companies can set their own standards, ratings, etc. I'm guessing that at some point, regardless of a carrier's BASIC scores, each insurance company will determine it's own risk tolerance and will assign premiums accordingly.
