What’s the deal about torquing the lug nuts all of a sudden. My 3/4 and 1” gun have always done the job. Being doing it for decades and NEVER had a lug nut come off. One can tell if your using a weak gun, if so, fix it or replace it. Geez…….

Otherwise I'd never torqued wheels or seen anyone else torque wheels. Even at dozens of tire shops.Oxbow and Diesel Dave Thank this. -
Got a flat on my pickup a few weeks ago. Sucker went down fast. I realized I’m outta shape and was kicking myself for not having my cordless impact with me. Sad it was……Rideandrepair, Oxbow, D.Tibbitt and 2 others Thank this. -

I used this same tool to bust the inner and outer studs/nuts on my own on 2 axles when I did my brakes back in the 80’s. No torch, just a rod and breaker bar. My point is, I had to tighten everything back up the same way and never had a lug nut get loose. I even remember one day I had to get a flat fixed and there 1” gun had a hard time trying to break the lug nuts off. So again, “Torquing” what ? Btw, a few years after that episode, I had enough money to go buy an air compressor and air tools.
