I am looking at a 2019 international lt625 it was a fleet truck at smith transport. It has 438k miles with a Cummins x15 and manual and disk brakes. Double bunk. They are asking $64,900 is this a good price. Also included is a 1 year warranty. I am going to be leasing it onto fcc. This is my first truck purchase and looking to get a opinion. I current drive a 2020 Peterbilt 579 with 425k paccar for my company, but I wouldn't buy one. I have noticed in the last 5 months prices dropping quickly which is why I am now looking. Not too worried about rates since the company has contract freight and seems to be doing good. I have saved up $40k going to put down $15k if I decide to buy. Leaving me a wiggle room for maintenance and tires.
Asking questions before I buy

When has the turbo last been been replaced? That seems to be the big ticket item. I'm driving one with 432k right now. The power steering reservoir sprung a leak last week. Replaced that myself for $90. Best parts prices for has been O'Halloran's in Altoona Iowa.
Great service too. Always get treated well there.Rideandrepair and rokue Thank this. -

Quirky DEF sensor issues a problem also.
It derated once to less than 5 mph, part wasn't available and shop was able to bypass it until part became available.
DEF tank sprang a leak and had to be replace.
If you want to replace the floor, it might be two pieces. Might find a good price on ebay. You can do it by yourself with common tools.
Bolts on seatbelts require a power wrench to remove.Last edited: May 18, 2023

Buying the same diagnistic software as mechanics can save one a lot of money.
Hook the computer up to the port and find out for yourself.Rideandrepair and Bean Jr. Thank this. -

65k is quite high for that rig right now... With the emissions systems and approaching 500k and being a company truck .. Id try to get it around 45k or less.. But i know thats probably not realistic.. Its got about 150k miles left on average before u start seeing some big problems with these new trucks

I wouldn’t touch that truck. That cramped interior is a dealbreaker. And, I wouldn’t want to deal with the IH dealer network. X15 is known for topend problems and random ejection of connecting rods.
Your better bet would be to find a nice Cascadia with a DD15 turbo compounding engine. The dealer support is incredible, the tractor is pretty slippery to the wind, and that engine fuel mileages really well.
Henry Albert recently posted this for fuel mileage. Not only is he a great driver, he’s using the right tool for the job; a Cascadia.
