I don't know I was cruising with a x15 from brand new in 2020 and I got out of it at 330k miles they changed oil every 30k miles never had a issue. At premier transportation.

Automatic, though I wasn't sure if there would be enough change between the two in length to make a difference.

    Oxbow and rokue Thank this.

You need a larger sample size than the one truck you drove. My previous employer was roughly 2000 tractors and my current employer is roughly 250 tractors. My previous has already phased out all red and my current is phasing out all red.

The X15 isn’t the most fuel efficient or reliable engine on the road. That’s something you really need to look at, first.

I’m pretty sure, you have your mind already made up and you’re just fishing for others who will confirm what you’re doing. Carry on!

How hard are those detroits to work on? Atleast the cummins are fairly easy to work with and good parts network all across the country.. Never ran a detroit before. But heard good things about the new ones

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

I bought a 2018 LT625. It’s a work truck not a show truck. It’s the one in my picture there. I got a one year warranty from the manufacturer and I added a year. My first three months we did the front main seal then the rear all under warranty. They also covered the turbo and I had to have the actuator replaced about 5 months ago. That cost me nothing out of pocket except a hotel room for two day’s waiting on the part. I just bought the extended warranty through the manufacturer again. Seriously two days later. The water pump started leaking and Nox sensor threw a code when the dealership replaced and test drove it. Nothing out of pocket for me. I have had a good experience with international backing that warranty. So two things in my opinion. Make sure that it’s an International warranty not one of those other extended warranty companies. Then make sure you add as many years to it as you have payments. In this market it’s to up/down to try and save a huge nest egg starting out. Good luck to you……

Find a mechanic or shop ( not a truck stop) near the dealership to take the truck to and have it inspected - or have your mechanic go with you. to look at it.
