Yes Oakley does run hoppers, I think they have around 40 of them. They require you to have a light truck #17,500 with fuel so you can haul 52,000. All Timpte trailers. The pay is $1.02 a mile loaded or empty plus FSC loaded or empty to the truck and they pay your base plate, no trailer lease and all company trailers. I know some of the hopper guys I have talked to run 48 and Canada and some run the midwest, it is just what deal you can make with them. I want to do hoppers but I have to heavy of a truck for them. Their FSC is a little low it is .22 cpm this week.

One good thing I like about it is I like it when they deadhead me because I still get paid. They deadheaded me and eleven other trucks from Little Rock to Kansas City two weeks ago to pick up glass going to Jeffersonville, IN because the customer was running low and the train was late.

What I never have figured out about this operation is they say hopper freight is cheap so they need to haul 26 ton and want lite weight trucks but with the dumps we haul alot of the same stuff they do in the hoppers and you can have a heavy truck and the dumps weigh more then the hoppers. My empty weight with the dump is usually around #33,500. So I am loading about 3 ton less all the time.

HTC = Heartland Trading Co. Roff, OK. I talked to them about 10 months ago and they were slow and had let some of their O/O's go because they took some of their frac sand tank trucks which were slow also and hooked them to hoppers. I guess they are hiring O/O's again because a friend of mine his cousin lease to them and all I know is he has been running up north a lot from the Dakota's to Ohio pulling their trailer and using their fuel card. They run a nice late model equipment and they are also a pretty good size broker, they bought Frontier Trading a few years ago. I have hauled for Fronteir back in the 90's and always got paid and have heared good things about HTC.

They are also in partnership with Oklahoma Ag Transportation, Kingfisher, OK. I would stay far away from the guy that runs this operation. Also use to be Oklahoma Ag Lines until he went broke and owed a lot of guys a dump truck load of money.

It is a 40ft smooth sided MAC. Oakley has some heavy specs. I think the floor is a lot thicker and the walls then most dumps because we haul a lot of scrap and plus we have a regular landing gears that you would find on flatbeds etc...

As far as my truck yes it is heavy. 2007 Pete 379 ext hood, 550 Cat, 18spd, 280"WB, 70" bunk. Factory weight 18,299lbs and then I have 150 gal. tanks, 500lb Rigmaster generator, a keg of beer and all my crap for two weeks on the road. O' my wet kit also. Their is a guy in Enid who has the same truck I do except a 270" wb and no generator and pulls a Wilson spread axle hopper and tells me the trailer is speced light says he can haul 50,000 legal.

Ha! I wish there was a waiting list that long. One of these days I'll get a PM over to you and tell you some good stories. You probably won't want to come within 100 miles of my yard after you hear just a few.:biggrin_2559:

10-4 One of these days maybe we can get together and BS. I did meet one of your O/O's back in Jan. he had his truck at Doonans getting some work done, a dark blue Peterbilt aero truck. You guys sure have some nice trailers.

O' I do speak english if that is a requirement on your application. :biggrin_2559: But I am thinking about changing my name to Hector Jesus Sanchez if it will help me get some goverment assistance.
