    What transmission is it? What settings does it currently have? What exactly do you hate about it? What does it do that you don’t like? Many things can be changed in the parameters to get them to work better for what you’re doing.

    I know absolutely nothing about it. It's my first DD. 13 speed. Paired with mx13.

    There's absolutely nothing to like about it. It just don't compare to the old fashioned stick.

    With a stick I touch the gas and it goes. And only shifts when I tell it too.

    This pos I touch the gas and it says hang on. I can't decide which gear to use. Has a cup of coffee and THEN decides to start rolling. NOT MOVE. Just rolls. It can't decide which gear to use no matter what speed. It can't climb hills..it shifts when it wants but won't shift when it should. I make turns with the motor at 2200 because it won't grab a gear.

    A 13 must be an Eaton and that’s old tech in the auto shift department. I’m sorry your boss specs trucks poorly. Almost sounds like it’s set in economy mode if the throttle response is that slow.

    After the first month in this truck, which is my first experience in an auto, I took it back to Peterbilt and we spent a couple hours going thru the parameters to get it to perform how I want. I let off the brake and it starts going without the throttle unless you’re on a steep hill. It creeps at an idle with no throttle input. I can shift it manually and also don’t experience anything like what you describe on the hills.

    They’re controlled by computers and everything can be changed. But the guy that signs your paychecks needs to be willing to listen to you and work with your issues.

    We won't go into that. LOL.

    I'm not sure if what you speak of would work. The motor doesn't have the power.

    I can always tell if someone has an Autoshift by the way they drive. In traffic they're not smooth. They drive like the A-Hole 4-wheelers. Tailgating, lunging forward to the vehicle in front, then slam the breaks. In the truckstops they mash the throttle and fly around like they're in a car. BTW...All the people saying, "Oh I love my Autoshift in heavy traffic" Why? IF, you know how to float gears, a manual in a semi is easier to drive in traffic than a manual in a car.

    All in all, I don’t give a crap what someone wants to own as to brand, color, engine, transmission of their truck. I myself will not own one with an auto-shift, if I was a company owner I would not have them, but that’s me. You be you, I’ll be me. What chaps me is, there are those on many forums and threads that advocate for ‘manuals should be banned’ ‘automatics should be banned’.

    I agree. ^^

    @Long FLD
    Is there a way to get it out of economy mode or is that a dealer program?

    They’d have to hook up to it at the dealer. I’m only guessing that it might be some of what you don’t like. I know economy mode can take away some throttle response and limit what can be done in manual mode. But if yours is a 13 speed I’m not familiar with those at all.

    Sounds like poor driving habits. And they’d probably be driving a manual the same way if they had one.
