The A1 was still being used in the USCG when I enlisted in 1981. I always liked the A1, and it took me awhile to get used to the A2's rounded handguard.

Just seems a little spendy. For $500 I'd be all in.

For what they're asking, I could go down to the local shop and come home with an M&P 15, a red dot sight, soft case, range bag, and two 30rd mags.

Which would, of course, lack the panache of an M16A1 made from authentic GI parts.....

Yep — I think of it as being like a sleeper on a truck— a really nice sleeper with a crapper, shower, queen sized bed and cook stove— but about the same concept

I have never understood the Camper Life Style.

The camper for the trip was a way to realize a life experience that allowed me to travel at random for 2 months. Sold it once I got back.

When I was done with the 5th wheel I got to move onto the property, it traded to the neighbor so he could move onto his property in exchange for tractor work.

    It's like they say,
"The second most happiest day in a man's life is when he buys a boat. The first most happiest day in a man's life is when he sells it. " lol

Changed my mind. Not gonna say it.

    Changes DNA?

That sure would explain a lot about what's been going on lately......

I spent a pretty good part of my life in one working out on the road and really wouldn’t have it any other way and I do like to be comfortable so I’m willing to spend a couple bucks, but these folks that run around in 100k + ones for maybe a week or two a year are F’n insane with a capital I

Yep....Harbor Freight electric buffer kit, wheels, bonnet and compound, doubt it'd set ya back more than fifty bucks.

See your friendly neighborhood PPG dealer, case of rattle cans in color of choice, case of clear coat...haven't priced this in many moons, might be ninety bucks a case these days, prolly more.

    Still, not too bad.

Or you could opt for a case of Rust-O-Leum paint, and ol' Earl Scheib can suck it......
