In deciding on what to provide for a preview..would the following be enough for a preview of an overall route?

    state
    hwy
    and distance for each hwy?

    Thanks,
    Mark

Thats better than some if not all as long as it gives the hwy numbers not their names. I would also like the ability to see the route on the map screen with the rest of the major roads showing so I can calculate my own alternatives without having to dig out the MCRA. It would be nice to be able to point out (pick) an alternative road from that screen and "add via" with a button. Thats one of my major beefs, the lack of detail on the map screen, really hinders the usefulness of the device.

I would like the detour by road feature to stay locked in and not revert to the original route the first time you pull in to a truck stop or rest area. I want to be sure the RM matches the directions on the qualcomm.

I would also like a numeric keypad option for adjusting the timers etc...

Also finding a location on the map should be a whole lot easier, I do that as a last resort when the address can't be found. When you zoom in on the crosshair from a zoomed out scale it is nowhere near the area you wanted, and the map timing out and returning to the routing screen is beyond infuriating.

Enjoying the GPS otherwise. Have more suggestions but typing on my phone is a pain: )

Also a running total of miles would be nice so you don't have to add up the miles per turn in your head.
I feel your pain GFINCH, I've literally punched the stupid thing when it keeps reverting back to your current position.

    Mark Kling Thanks this.

I feel your fustration on that screen also....

I am passing up to RM.. but be aware a lot of wants get assigned a priority and depending on if RM can do it in the code.

    thanks for the input..

One thing i hope goes in future releases...everytime i run to northeast im always routed across the GW BRIDGE in NYC (unless put as detour) no matter what time. would be nice if unit routed you around congested areas of major cities between heavy traffic hours. like between say 6am-9am and 4pm-7pm it would route you around cities unless had a stop in there.

I agree, To show an overhead map with list of highways (numbers, not names)Miles on each highway would be nice. Something that can be reviewed quickly.

I finally picked one of these up from DieselBoss in Albany yesterday. I didn't have much time to do anything but hook it up and go. My first impression: it seemed to want to take me everywhere BUT in a direct route. I was in my pickup but had it set to the *truck* mode. I would want to take me left when I knew that going right was the way to go so I'd go right. It never came up with any "restricted route" warnings when I'd go MY way. Like I said, I've only just started using it but I'm glad I wasn't hooked to a 53'er while getting the hang of what it's trying to tell me. Maybe it just take a while to understand it?
