    I told you I'm not afraid to work. I'm ready to get started on a new job and there won't be any slacking. I've burned through my cash and I'm unwilling to take on debt to run a truck. I'm disillusioned with it all and turning a page on it. A few years ago I would've been interested. It's a good opportunity for somebody who's still got the ambition.

    You were not one that I mentioned. I meant the bunch of guys that contacted me, mostly on my Craigslist add. They liked the money I offered, just didn’t like to do anything for it. Nothing wrong with changing course, good to do at times. Not good to stay the course and fail without finding solutions to problems.

    Most didn’t own their trucks, didn’t want to do the effort, or just were outside of my lane.- Very understandable on the last.

    I wonder if most folks here complaining about rates are just miserable folks that feel brokers owe them something. Who knows, all the mediocre competitors just make things easier for me?

    Some are still doing over 3 a mile. Most of that freight isn’t on a load board. Load boards are scraps when all fails. If your business plan is to operate on a load board. -That’s not much of a business plan. 1 a mile team is just a broker taking on guys that take the freight.

    I could never imagine having almost half million dollars of equipment and rely on dat for my success. That’s just ludicrous! A broker uses a load board when their regulars are unavailable and they take a risk on an unknown carrier. Why pay well if their service quality is questionable? Guys this stuff is not that hard!

    I know right! I feel that trucking has just worn down allot of folks. Allot is sacrificed during a lifetime in trailer trucking. It is not a life of luxury. It takes grit and focus not to get torn apart. Faith in the almighty sure doesn’t hurt. Still believe we need a patron saint of the lease purchase! I think my background in bomb disposal in Iraq and Afghanistan makes everything look easy.
