Generally speaking the DD15 is more reliable and fuel efficient than the x15 or paccar engines. Also the one box emissions system is better than the Cummins system that paccar uses. But a used truck depends on who had it before you . A well maintained low idle truck that pulled medium to heavy weights often works better than a high idle truck that pulled light despite the fact the light truck averaged better fuel economy.
