Yeah, I paid their asking price because I needed to add another truck, couldn’t wait for the big price drop, and dang sure wasn’t willing to pay what they want for a new one.

Your Lower Alabama cracked me up for a reason. When I was in prison I had a friend that was a strait up hillbilly. He always said he was from LA ( Lower Alabama) We called him Big Country! Great dude, took me back a few decades. Ha ha

Well my salesman from Jim Hawk just spammed everyone saying hello and to let him know if anyone needs anything.

Excuse me if I find this funny (even though it directly impacts my asset values). These dealers are feeling the pinch and have to actually work now. Maybe he can find that reefer trailer I ordered, prior to the spike in price, that somehow never showed up. 99.9% sure it got sold to Cali carrier as I was told by a couple of GD dealers that exactly what they were doing…upselling people’s order to the Cali carriers for a sweet premium.

Jim Hawk has a ton of inventory including 2023’s. As mentioned a couple of pages ago, you can go to a GD dealer and get a 2024 cheaper than what they have their 2023’s priced for.

Yea, they wanted me to pick one up for 126k! I was like no. Spent 24k less for one in Michigan. Still lots of money.

One thing I’m finding out about Paccar motors and also the endurant 12 speed auto trans is that Kenworth techs aren’t really allowed to work on them. Or, at best the shop only has 1 person qualified and that person is always a week behind minimum.

Makes me remember why I only had cummins in the past until forced into these 2 Paccars. Also had 2 clutches go recently in the autos.

The factories seem to be only allowing their own people or 1 specialized person to make decisions. Had an injector problem “fixed” after almost 2 weeks and KW service manager couldn’t even tell me what “they” did.

The man who parks around me has a Peterbilt with a Meteor transmission that will not down shift.
Sometimes just will not move. Been to the dealer here and every shop around and 2 months later it still don't work.
Another with a Paccar that the coolair APU factory unit has not worked since he got it new.
His other KW has Issues with the coolant going out the exhaust. New EGR valve, new compressor, head gasket and head machined and still same problem. The dealers Pete & KW have no idea what to do. Hook computer up and their stumped.

Vitkouski, Feedman, dwells40 and 2 others Thank this.

I wonder why the clutches are going out? Maybe driver is causing it when they are stopped at stop light? You know how they kind of push on the pedal to go lightly while waiting instead of holding the brake.

    Magoo1968 Thanks this.

Maybe crappy design or even worse manufacturing quality control.
