Haha. That’d disqualify many who are not even intoxicated.

Alcohol is 6-8 hrs, depending on how hard you partied. Its also LEGAL on a federal level. Weed is NOT LEGAL on a federal level and can stay in your system for up to 30 days. You have a CDL, you ARE governed under federal rules. Dont matter if the state you are in has it legal or not. Picture this, you smoke 5 days ago, then some idiot runes a red light and you nail him, he dies. They WILL pull a blood test, you pop hot. GAME OVER. The DA and civil lawyers will eat you alive. Bottom line. If you want to smoke, find another job. FYI I know a driver who had a small amount of weed in his truck. He was sober and not under the influence. State Police searched his truck during a roadside inspection. He was arrested, criminally charged, truck and load impounded. Lost his job and it hit his DAC. Last time I talked to him, he was 4 years out of trucking and no company will touch him. Unless the federal law changes, dont risk it.

You made some good points and I agree with most of them. The ones I don't agree with aren't worth arguing about.
One thing I can't figure out though. Drivers are asking us, basically, if they can smoke dope and drive. The answer is always the same and we're all pretty much unified on that.
What part of "against the law" are they having trouble understanding? Sure, the laws are outdated and draconian but they're still the law. Don't like the law? Get it changed. There are ways to do that.
If some of these kids put as much energy and thought into their lives and jobs as they spend looking for ways to smoke dope and drive we'd all be better off.

Sooner or later, the driver who put a six pack of beer in his headache rack will eventually get caught, it is just a matter of time, NOT worth it. The same goes for ALL drugs.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

The absolute sheer driving force of our national economy - without truck drivers, our entire national economy would come to an absolute standstill - if not outright be dead.

Over the mountains, through the woods, into the valleys, coast to coast, from sea to shining sea - truck drivers can and do go anywhere and everywhere, every day, every night, all year round.
