I work for ABF, they will hire green drivers. If you have less than a year experience, but still have your CDL with endorsements you can go through the DDP (Driver Development Program) and if you do well it is expedited. If you need more help it is six weeks long. You can PM me if you have any questions.

So last week I had my 13 Volvo broke down on me. Big supprise seeing how it sat for 7 months before I got it and have 750k miles on it. The air dryer in the air system gave out and I lost air pressure fast in the middle of the highway at 6 am on my return to the home dock. Lucky I wasn't in traffic at the moment asI had to get over fast before my breaks locked up. I was stranded for 4 hours. It was an 18 hour day... I was locked out of working the next night but got paid for it as it wasn't my fault and we are Teamsters.
The next night they gave me another old beat up s#itbox. I told the manager it was garbage before I left the yard. It gave out on me in the turn around yard. That yard has on-site mechanics. They said it's probably the transmission. They gave me a new Peterbuilt with 50k miles on it as a loaner. Good times.

The simple, hard truth is that trucking (like most other jobs) will not always be rainbows and unicorns--especially as a new driver, and...especially in the current trucking market. :(

As they say, "Hang in there, Baby".....:wav:

I actually didn't care at all... I got paid 6 hours of OT and got a paid day off! And for now I'm driving an almost brand new Peterbuilt. :headbang:

What’s up with YRC going out of business? Have you heard anything from your terminal?
