First off I am proud to say that I started my career on this forum and sure don't want to end it but I'm worried.
Over the OTR years I have gained about 200 pounds and not from truck stop food so much as just eating too much and not enough exercise.

At this point I've about another 150 to loose .

1 week ago while in slow traffic I blacked out. Felt a tightness in my chest, felt my body go weak and blacked out.

I had hit several cars and lucky for every one that no one was seriously injured but a few did go to the ER to get checked out.

The police talked to me and checked my phone, and I did take a drug test and those were not an issue. I had just come off my 34 as well.

My plan was to take 2-3 months and collect employment insurance and hit the gym hard but I realy don't this to be the end of my career.

    TLDR:
Had an accident, no one seriously injured, but several cars were hit.
Cleared to drive but accident caused by passing out from chest p[ain.
No prior speeding - Drugs -DUI-dirty UA etc.

What does you gaining weight have to do with driving the truck?

As far as finding employment, maybe not the end. For your sake and everyone else, I’d stay off the road til your health is in check. The timing being slow traffic could’ve easily been running through a busy intersection or coming up on a construction zone.

I think he's put his health in peril by gaining that much weight, which led to this blackout incident.

Did you have alot of 5hr energy drinks or a lot of energy drinks and caffeine at once. That will make anyone black out regardless of health. But your health should be always a concern if you gained a lot of weight and you should start working on getting healthier. Wouldn’t say it’s the end but finding a high paying company driver job might be difficult for the next 3 years. Might take a step back in the quality of company.

For the time being, I'd say your days of profitably trucking are temporarily over if you're a company driver.

Put yourself in the company's shoes: he already had an adverse reaction to driving once before...how can we know it'll be different this time?

So they'll want you to have a year or two of driving at a lesser company before they'll consider you...

So you're a fair bit behind the ball here. If you love it, you'll do it. I've personally never LOVED trucking per se, I've just been good at it to make a decent living.

If I'd been in an accident at any point and had to take a lesser job? No chance I'd still be around.

    But everyone is different.

I don't see any mention of getting to a doctor to get checked out.

Blacking out is a serious issue, and hitting the gym won't solve the problem.

Change diet, learn and consult with a doctor about water fasting (no calories, only water), get your fitness in order. Using Occam’s razor, because you’re fat your blood flow likely isn’t good or clean. Lack of healthy blood flow equals junk and stoppage in your pipes, crap flow equals no oxygen saturation, that equals lights out randomly.

You randomly passing out is your wake up call to become the person you need to be. Get after it, or it’ll only get worse.

    Before anything bad happens.”

I haven't pulled a load since the end of March, and have been exercising a lot.

Went and had blood work done then end of May, it came back golden.

Total clean diet. Chicken and fish, lots of fruits and vegetables.

    No sodas, candy, cookies, etc.

Down about 20 pounds, was 214 last Monday.

Want to get to 200 before I go back out if I can.

I'm 58. I recommend you ease into it, or you could really hurt yourself.

Also go and get a real physical at a real doctor's office.
