My tire dealer and I were watching a kid trying to back a 53 into a Dollar General. The driver would turn the wheel from stop to stop with the truck not moving. The tire guy laughed "Every time they do that they put more bad wear on those steer tires than driving for a day. Money in the bank for me."

I finally got my 4 week average above 8 for the first time. Last 4 weeks were 13438 miles, 1667 gallons, for an average of 8.06. I wonder what I’d be at if my trailer was 24” closer to my truck.

Yep I agree. I never do that but I don’t get going faster and turn sometime. I just need to pay a little more attention and I know this of course. Not the first thing in my head when backing.

I would be it would be 1/3–1/2 per mile. That trailer gap really makes a big difference when back that far.

Well I ended up just dead heading home. Kind of sucked driving 1400 miles on my own dime. I had thought I had a good lead on a load coming back but never happened. I think it got pushed a week back.

I needed to get back to run a load I had already booked going to WA starting Monday. It is a two drop load and is 40k. 20 K drops in UT. Not sure I can run axle up with 20k in the box but will find out when I go to scale it.

Over all trip was 9.8 MpGs and on the way back I drove 70 or speed limit. I got 10 MPG,s on the way back.

Also all of last year before adding the trailer aero and the lift axle I got over 9 mpg’s just one time on fueling up. So far since adding these I have managed to get 9 plus on fueling up 3 times. 9.6 twice so this has made a pretty big difference. I ran a lot of the similar loads I have done in the past with the multi drops. Pretty impressive to me anyways.

So here is some of my information on Fuel economy. Also note that this is not my price on fuel since I do not add in my discount. Screenshot 2023-06-10 at 4.38.28 PM.png

Finally measured today, 44” from the back of the fairing to the trailer. Oh well, gives me room to take a leak. Lol

That is about how my last truck was how I had it set up to run. That was for weight more than anything else since I did regular 40-45K all the time when I had that truck. I did like that set up when turning in tight areas though. Ha Ha

Well I got loaded and found out I got lucky. Load total is only 9K so will have axle up the whole trip. I kind of thought it would be lighter since I have done a few of these loads before in the past. I plan on doing 67 the whole trip but might slow it down a little since I have plenty of time. I got 500 miles in today before I shut down at 9.1 MPG's going North on I 29 then to I80. Might be able to get into the 10's with this load if no bad wind hits me.

I’d be curious to see what 60mph would get you.
