    If the chain of command at Swift doesn't give you worthwhile options--easily one of the best reefer carriers to drive for is DOT Transportation.

    DOT has locations in Miami, Ocala...& also in Jacksonville--check 'em out:

    Drive for DOT Transportation -- locations

    You should already have enough driving experience to qualify with them.

    They may well have regional opportunities for you (like DC to DC)...along with a choice of different driving schedules.

    Try the LTL companies as they pay a livable wage for teams. Some of them might bring yall on at 6 months experience. But to me the ultimate team gig will be Air Products. Each driver can make $140k. But AP wants at least 3 yrs for teams.

    What’s the company/companies name(s) exactly? I’ll look them up and reach out to them regardless!

    This is probably going to be the first company I reach out to on my day off. I like the location. If they pay well I hope they accept us.

    Just remember if flowers are on carts never leave a dock until you verify carts are strapped or load lock.. I’ve seen 4 different guys pull out of the dock at Home Depots and lose their whole load out the back door .. PS light work and you meet nice people doing nursery stock .

    @Metsuri Don't sell yourself short. Teams should be making at least double what you're talking about making right now per driver. My mileage rate is 63.5 and I average about $1700 a week. With the kind of bs team drivers have to put up with I should expect you would be making $2000 a week. I could have sworn I heard Swift was paying better these days.

    3 caveats here.....

    • the LTL sector usually wants AT LEAST 1 years driving experience; these guys aren't even close to that, yet;
    • the LTL sector wants ALL the CDL endorsements; I don't think the original poster has any of them (at least, yet);
    • like everywhere else (except for maybe "food")--freight in th LTL sector is also slowing down....:(

    The above is pretty much why I suggested otherwise....:oops:
