I don’t have it anymore. It was good. Apple does work good. I’m so unhappy with apple from that experience. I shut down my iCloud. People say what about my backup? I say I’ll just buy another computer. I don’t need their claws in me. Don’t bother with applecare…it’s a bunch of BS. I still have all other apple. Desktop, laptop, iPad. Local dealer says I’m the only customer they have with an iPad that has its own phone number.
I was actually naive enough to think apple would find it interesting to see what happens to a iPhone 14 Max Pro when a truck runs over it.
BTW I’m really liking my fg (whatever) android. Wasn’t crazy about it. Was the only 5g I could get on short notice. Keep looking. But gotta admit I’m happy with it now.

Me personally, I am a member of 2 credit unions, both of them being excellent:
    1) Navy Federal Credit Union
    - been a member for 36 years, since 1987 while I was active duty in the U.S. Navy, became a member in Yokosuka Japan while on a Westpac. The membership is currently 13 million members. Navy FCU is open to all active duty & retired members of all branches of the U.S. military & civilian employees of the Department of Defense.
    2) Wichita Federal Credit Union - been a member for 14 years, since 2009. My direct deposit paycheck from my job goes to Wichita FCU. It used to be only for municipal employees working for the city of Wichita KS. Now it is open to anyone living in Wichita KS. The membership is currently 13,000 members. There is still a branch office at City Hall in Wichita KS.

Where is your company located out of? Also, where do you live?

    1) You could check to see if your company has a credit union for it's employees, possibly signing up for direct deposit.
    2) Also, wherever your residence is, you could sign up at a community credit union, again possibly signing up for direct deposit.
    3) Whatever you decide on, you need to get direct deposit as soon as possible, much safer, much more efficient than having to cash paper checks every week or every 2 weeks.

My local bank gives me 4 out of their network atm withdrawals a month free. But when I was OTR, I would usually just get cash back at stores I shopped at. That would be the only time I used a debit card on the road. For anything else I used a credit card and paid it off every month. Safer that way

The most valuable feature of a bank when doing OTR is free ATM fees. I would avoid Bank of America, Citibank, big national banks if possible. I would avoid Wells Fargo, even if they were giving you free money. Wells Fargo has been caught in several intentional and criminal schemes and just pays the fine and keeps going. "They are a criminal enterprise masquerading as a bank." There are several internet-only banks and I would be happy to use one of them if they meet the other requirements. EVERY consumer bank has FDIC insurance, assuming you don't keep over $250k in your account. Search Clark.com for good info on picking a bank. If you have a credit union you can join with a better deal, use it.

I would pick a bank based on convenience and access and then read what type of checking accounts and benefits they offer. I would look for small minimum deposit for a free checking account and/or a checking account with free nationwide ATM fees.

I would also use a credit card for all purchases, not a debit card. Only consider using a credit card if you already have a history of paying off the full balance every month. If you can't be 150% certain about doing that then use a debit card, a even better a pre-paid credit card with low or no fee. Turn off overdraft protection for any checking account. Better to have a transaction declined than to have a small problem snowball into many hundreds of dollars of overdraft fees and interest. Also, if you have a debit card that is used only for ATMs, turn off the Point of Sale feature on it, so it cannot be used like a credit card in a store.

I'm Scottish. I know how to live cheap and not waste money. You don't have to live badly to be cheap, just don't throw away money, especially is you don't have lots of it. You can save your way to wealth.

SoFi works great for me. They pay a good rate on cash (about 4.4% as of today) and they partner with atm networks nationwide if you need cash.

You usually can't get that kind of savings rate at a big bank without tieing your money up in a CD.
