Well, if you are fat, lose weight.

I am fat, but my weight is diminishing not because of anything but eating the right food.

That aside, I ran into one of my former drivers this morning.

He was a stocky guy, really strong but about four years ago he got really sick and got off the road.

I understood from what he said he was gaining weight and had issues with his hands. So he went off the road after saving every penny he could for prior three months.

He is now fully disabled, he gained weight (275lbs) about three years ago, became a diabetic and this past year lost a leg and has serious problems with his hands.

He said that he isn't expecting to be alive next year.

His son said later he prepared everything from his funeral to transferring assets to the kids so they don't have to deal with anything.

The really sad thing is he had his 45th birthday today.

Lose weight, there are a lot of ways to do it, just do it.

I'm not "fat shaming" the guy. Could his weight have played into his medical issue ? Sure, its possible, but I'm not his DR, so I wouldn't know. My point to the OP is, he needs to have medical find the cause of the issue. Until then , I dont see where he's fit to drive. And until he is declared "fit" by a certified DOT medical professional , he should not drive.

I don't mean to be inflammatory but that's a really shallow, and discriminatory thing to say. Some one should come on here and say, "If you're an ### hole you shouldn't be allowed to drive a truck anyway. If ### holes aren't allowed to drive, then there definitely would be a driver shortage lol

When you went to the ER, what did they diagnose you with? Did you go get checked out with a primary care physician?

that’s saying it as it is ha ha ha. You’re exactly right. Sounds like he’s over 300 maybe 4oo pounds that’s way too much holy cow. I think if he gets around 200 pounds he might be all right but yeah the sugar levels have to be checked.

I’ve been waiting to hear from you, you’re exactly right buddy , that should end this post. I wish the guy good luck but he needs to straighten out his body, that’s way too much weight.

516 pounds but it could be lower. I have talked to my primary care doctor and its closer to heat stroke and dizzyness than a total black out,. my poor choice of words.

I just went and re-certified my medical card and am going in for a sleep apnea test No one was seriously inured @ the accident except some cars. I may have to put a year between this accident and my self with a non cdl driving job or box truck but the fact is many people have had accidents worse than mine and went back to driving. My career is not over and to the fat shamers out there, keep it up because it works.

I’m not of the fat shamer group but facts are facts and it has been proven time and again that being overweight brings about a hole bunch of other problems. Do yourself a favor and loose wieght sooner not later. The longer you subject your body to the stresses of being overweight the more problems you create and by waiting you only insure that some of those problems won’t go away even if you loose wieght after they show.

I doubt your career is over. You do need to make your health a priority though. I’m not piling on you, as there are a lot of skinny guys on here with high BP, cholesterol and A1C levels. They are skinny but they aren’t healthy.
