Some oldtimer told them to always distribute their load's weight. They just aren't smart enough to realize they only meant front to back.

The sad lack of basic mechanical aptitude/understanding is almost frightening, nowadays. That load down the center puts almost all the load right into frame rails instead of loading up the crossmember as that^ foolishness does. Not to mention how much better the securement would be.

Never understood it either. Hauled a lot of rebar when I first started trucking. So easy to tell the loaders to load it properly.

There's steel reinforcement in those - they probably just turned the trailer magnets on.

LOL, I was with TMC 4 a short time, they have more than 1 shipper that loads it like that. I would atleast weave the straps under over so atleast everything has atleast 1 strap touching. And my experience, when it's dipped in oil, then ya gotta tarp it. So highly doubt this was oil dipped. Could be wrong though...

Ok, im just thinking back to flat bedding days...I remember something similar having a light coat of grease/oil on it.... maybe it wasnt rebar. Looking at the rebar jogged my memory
