Make sure you get paid layover for your time. If you don't press the issue this time they'll know they can do it to you anytime. Don't let them short you with bs about the weekend or the holiday either. Do find yourself a nice place to spend the next few days because that's a hell of a layover.

 

Quit under load, and abandoned equipment? That's going to be hard to overcome to get on with another carrier.
