I really appreciate the recommendations. I'll put in some applications and see what happens. Some of these have definitely caught my eye. Thanks.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Not sure if Navajo Express is hiring in Florida right now, but you can find out.
Navajo Express
www.navajoexpress.com
1400 W 64th Ave, Denver, CO 80221 -
RE Garrison - Cullman, AL
Brannon Golden Trucking - Troy, AL
Phat Daddy Trans - Webb, AL
All 3 of those are reefer haulers and run across the Panhandle frequently enough to provide good home time.
You're also in a good area for Groendyke (bought out McKenzie Tank Lines a couple of years ago) -
Thanks 88 Alpha, I'll look into those as well.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
You could also try this carrier...in Troy, AL...they normally hire drivers with less than 1 year OTR...it's partly dry van work....& Kenworth tractors:
Truck Lines | Company Fleet | Shippers | On-Time Delivery | Wiley Sanders | Troy, Alabama
Given the current freight market--not sure what they will tell you.
I NEVER see them soliciting for drivers--so that's probably a good sign.

I'm not so sure if Climate Express is hiring out of Florida at the moment. We do have some drivers that live there and we run there sometimes but I don't know if they're standing pat with what they have. I will tell you, they'll want you to stay out a minimum 2 weeks before going home, but being in Florida, they may say you'll need to stay out longer because it's out of their typical running lanes. If you'd like, I'll PM you with more info.

As a general rule, I don't mention WSTL because I have several friends in various offices there. Wiley does advertise on local television but that's the only place I've ever seen them, with the exception of the few billboards around the Dothan area.
About 6 weeks ago, WSTL needed 185 drivers to fill all of their trucks, per one of those friends.Vic Firth, Nick 93, Chinatown and 1 other person Thank this. -
I would definitely try Kottke Transportation. They have a good hold on Florida and they have terminals there. They haul produce out of there like crazy.
