I’ve been at this rat race 43 yrs. I kicked and screamed 3 years when I got my first auto. Now I could care less. Still miss churning butter with the gear shift at times but glad to have the auto in traffic.

Dennixx, cdavis188, Speedy356 and 4 others Thank this.

I have a Manuel trans and from the standpoint of an owner who runs a truck until it is wore out Manuel's are just more reliable and last longer .
From a driver standpoint I'd want an auto .
As a fleet owner with 4 year trade cycles I would absolutely spec autos just because they are far more efficient than Manuel's and programmable.

Oh good you’ll be in Omaha for the freaking Hiroshima reenactment they have every year. I know I told you this a million times but that time at Estes when I worked over the 4th I dropped into Omaha and across the river and about had to put my fog lights on for all the smoke. That town doesn’t mess around when it comes to fireworks evidently.

Roflmao! At first I was like wtf ?
Yes you are right they take independence day quiet seriously.
In my line haul days in the early 90s I came down the hill on 80 from the east side of council bluffs headed toward omaha.....it was about 3am ...hot humid and still .
You would have thought a bomb went off there from all the smoke of fireworks .
When I lived in north O a few years ago I got up at 6 am on July 5th and the smoke hung so heavy I could barely see across the street.
Yep they get a little carried away there .

In the dock at Wal-Mart Grandview WA expecting a Gilligan job (3 hour nap) reloading in Yakima headed to Waxahatchie TX for a Friday noon delivery. Will do a 34 in Brigham City (hopefully) tonight. Man, they are showing me the country this week. Next week, back to the play pen.
