Welp i got boned today lol. Was in the shop friday longer then expected and was supposed to pick up today since i missed my friday pickup. Dude on the phone said yea we will be here all day monday come on down and get loaded. So i drove 2 hours south and.



Because of course they are closed lol. Oh well at least i get to get some beer and relax on the 4th.

 

Man it seems like anymore if a holiday is even close to a weekend companies are tying it in. I’m not complaining, just seems like it used to not be that way. Then again maybe I’m remembering wrong.

 

Did you camp out @Arctic_fox or just head back home? I loaded yesterday at one of my regular spots, place wasn’t busy at all because of the holiday, I was their first truck, maybe the only one for the day?

 

Not just you. People seem way more lazy and unwilling to work like at all anymore.

Yea i rolled back home. Burned about $75 bucks in fuel but meh i wasnt going to sit at a rural truckstop with no showers for a couple days when im 2 hours from home lol.

 

How’s it been going for you guys lately, it’s been rough down this way, very slow, not the norm for us. I have a bad way of getting in to panic mode when things slow down like this, I’ve been through it every year but it honestly seems to be hanging around a little longer this go round which is raising some serious red flags. I’ve seen guys on YouTube pulling buckets for Oakley, and they’re talking about “doing what we have to do to survive” I’m praying we’re not headed towards another ‘09-‘10 recession.

 

Different side of trucking and different area of the country but here in Oregon, the chemical hauling has been super slow this year. Usually by now we are humming right along in our busy season. Definitely not the case this year.

 

Still moving on my side. Bit slow atm and some of the loads arent top tier but i still make enough im not having to tighten my belt yet. But we also havent had the load explosion we usually get in summer either.

 

We’re pretty busy. The local side is slammed. A few guys I talk to that run the road said they’re pretty steady. I think there’s a couple open trucks yet and they’re advertising to hire for them.

 

Do they hire from the GA area?

 

I dont want to answer for @motocross25 but JK said they would bring me on in Florida, but with a home every other weekend option, doesn’t seem they can guarantee weekends this far south, GA may be different.
