Not normally, you're thinking about bar steel that is lubed up from the machining and rust preventative..usually referred to as slick bars, oil bars, greasy bars or some other colloquial reference. :)
    :banghead:

Edit: I see someone else answered that question.

Bet he takes the back route around that chicken house next time. Must be heavy on the drives. I'm wondering was the covered wagon next in line for boom lift. LOL. Van Wert, OH US30.

Whoa, did they rebuild that chicken coop? Sheesh I've been gone a long time...and I see there's rest areas, too. I have got to get back on the road. LOL

Don't think that one has ever been rebuilt but not positive. They don't have pre-pass or a by-pass lane when it's open, so ya gotta roll over the scale.... Believe drivewyze works at that location though...

Here's a follow up to my rant a couple months ago. That huge train derailment in eastern Ohio was supposedly caused by bearing failure. These traction motors have chain tie-down points ( which ) lots of them stink you gotta pull the cotter pins to make your chain fit through but, how long does that really take?

They been taking pictures at the rail yard, of course trying to pin the blame on someone, but this trucker better get with the program. I'd hate to be involved in that lawsuit.

Here's one I hauled recently, pretty damaged. Kinda scary when you think about that breaking apart while the locomotive is flying through...

I'm certainly no expert or know it all.

What’s the issue with how he has them secured? Lots of shafty things are secured like that. Seems like by the axle ends would be the best way to not stress the internal bearings and motors?

Size and weight probably chained down only with 2 chains hooped front to back and directly to the same side each?

cke, CAXPT and D.Tibbitt Thank this.
