However, Chan said Yellow’s issues aren’t because of Teamsters. Satish Jindel, the founder of SJ Consulting Group, agreed. “You can’t lay the risk of Yellow going out of business at the feet of Teamsters,” Jindel said.

Both Jindel and Chan highlighted ABF, the LTL fleet at ArcBest (NASDAQ: ARCB), as one example of a successful union operation in the same sector as Yellow. ABF’s revenue per shipment, including fuel surcharge, equaled around $529 in the first quarter of 2023 – around 56.2% higher than Yellow’s that same period. What’s more, on May 30, ABF announced that its Teamsters employees had ratified a five-year collective bargaining agreement.

Pretty much says it all for the most part.. yellow mgt Is responsible for this problem

Truer words were never spoken. Yellow has had several years to get their act together and over these years, the employees sacrificed and went along with the sloppy management, it has come to an end.

Maybe it time to let them go out of business. The government gave them 700 million loan during Covid. If I remember correctly they used a lot of that money to bail out their retirement fund for all the driver. Now they are running out of money again. Lots of people said back when they got the 700 million loan they would not be able to pay it back, and they are again running out of money.

Say, let them fall close the doors… I know it sucks for all the workers, but in reality yellow is just a miss, managed disaster… And for those that think that the other companies can’t pick up the workload yes they can… Between Old Dominion, ABF Saia r&l and a lot of the other regional LTL carriers, making more than pick up the slack that yellow would leave behind

The companies get so large they cannot manage themselves,,they hire managers but not workers. I work for a Giant screwup...love it..paid waiting time accounts for 25 % of my income and all that waiting time is done sleeping at away from home terminal.
