We charge t/l rate on ltl every day of the year....isn’t unusual to send out a 15 stop Oh-Wi with 30 plts...each shipment bein chg t/l
But you never shipped even One pallet with parcel....UPS Freight(former Overnite..now Tforce) more likely

Easy......you gonna shut down your operation for 15 days because the Teamsters don't want to come to work?
    LOL
Workers at UPS last went on strike for 15 days in 1997,

    Siinman Thanks this.

Maybe....but I’m not completely convinced of that....
My guess is they’ll do an extension thru to a Sat....and do a 3d shift Sat nite shutdown or something similar just to rattle mgmt cage

    Siinman Thanks this.

I have had pallets flown in an air plane to get to the location on time. We shipped with whomever could get it there on time. The owner even had an airplane that he would ship stuff on to make it on time. I have shipped stuff all over the world via plane, train, and container ships. Again it just depends on the stuff that needs shipped.

We seem to be at an impasse of understanding........my reply was that your assertion that no one crossed UPS picket lines was simply not true. (I didn't say it was a lie). My understanding was that you believed that no one crossed picket lines at shippers, and that is simply not true. However, in retrospect, I'm now understanding that what you meant was that no one crossed the picket lines at UPS facilities. And this is likely true.
I guess now, perhaps, we're on the same page.

Every week UPS brings two totes of glue into one of our customers. The glue ship point is 330 miles away from the customer. One week UPS failed to deliver and I was told to DH to the glue place, pick up two weeks of product and return- 660 miles on the load. After that there was a discussion about maybe using one of the dedicated trucks to do a round Robin pick up at the various suppliers that were using various LTL companies to ship in. While it would have been cheaper, logistically it would have been problematic so the idea got dropped.

If UPS goes on strike, our customer is going to need to get their glue one way or another. They might use another ltl carrier, but they might also use a truck load carrier.

I can think of a couple more places that we ship out of that UPS makes freight pick ups from - not parcles on a pallet. That type of stuff may not be the norm for UPS, but they do haul it.

Actually I’m pretty sure they had non union management making deliveries then. So yes those lines were crossed
