Very helpful info, thank you. Especially telling me about your location. Its hard moving around Facebook 500 miles at a time looking for trucks haha

Stretched a little to far but you get what I’m looking for. Its my first truck as an OO and I’m scared. Was an independent contractor the past 7 years. I managed to get a business loan and my interest rate is only 6% versus a commercial loan at 14%.

    Yeah
That one is too long and gonna be too heavy .
What kinda cargo you planning on hauling ?

building a shower and camping toilet in the wheeler isn’t too hard if you have any Do it yourself handyman skills .

500 miles is the max on marketplace but it may show more than that once it runs out of stuff to show .

problem is that everyone puts a million keywords in the ad so you will get served up ads for lots of other brands of trucks .

I know of a small company in Atlanta that sells their W-900s when they get 500k miles or five years old .
Once the warranty expires and they gotta start paying for the repairs and the tax depreciation runs out so they gotta start paying income tax on the profit , they order a new one and sell
    The one one .

If you’re not going to run California , I’d recommend getting a pre emission rig . That doesn’t have the DEF and EGR and all that crap .
Hell I’d get one with a mechanical injection engine with no computers at all .

Only thing with the no computer ones is not many had cruise control .

it will use more fuel and won’t make quite as much power but won’t have as much downtime because it doesn’t have a hundred sensors that can go bad and leave you sitting for days or weeks waiting on a replacement

IMG_1657.png Lot of stuff in the Midwest too
but having it checked out before you buy is critical , unless you are a decent mechanic .

And remember , if they don’t have receipts , the work never happened .
They can say rebuilt engine all day but unless that have an actual paper receipt , it never happened.

    And
You can call about the work , call the shop that supposedly rebuilt the engine and ask about it . They will have records for the warranty .

3406 cat and 18 speed is the combo I’d want .
As mentioned , If the engine was actually rebuilt by a reputable shop , the seller and the shop will have papers on it .

And with any used truck, plan on. Spending at least $20k to get it road ready .
New virgin tires all around , new brake chambers and shoes and drums all around
Every rubber hose in the cooling system and every belt .maybe new radiator etc

it’s hard to tell in the ads which ones are the extended hood “L” model

With a 500 mile radius , you can cover the whole country with five or six locations .
Memphis or Nashville TN gets the entire eastern half except for Florida and New England
