Best thing for the industry is for them to close .. it would be a wake up call to others who manage the same way.. I’d rather see one big one who undercuts people go down than a 100 smaller ones trying to run for a profit but being undercut badly by a company that is partially government owned ..

I hope ABF gets most of their Government Contracts and General Freight altogether. The more the better. ABF is a great Company. I regret not going to work for them. Top seniority Drivers from Yellow will get first dibs on any hiring at ABF. At least that’s how it used to work. That’s why with only 2 yrs in the Teamsters, I never could get in anywhere that had a Master Freight Agreement contract. The Gold Standard of Labor Contracts. I wish the best for the Drivers.

you know maybe since they took out a $700 million taxpayer funded loan and it seems to be obvious to the eye that something has gone very wrong with all that money in such a short time, maybe an investigation needs to be started as to where the taxpayer money went to…

I have a "dear friend" who was the president of 3 different trucking companies(big LTL companies) that "closed the doors". Guess what, he is a very wealthy man today.Siinman, ducnut, drvrtech77 and 1 other person Thank this. -
The problem is people at that level have zero accountability, because they’re so intertwined with everyone else at that level who are making the ultimate decisions. It’s full-on politics.mjd4277, gentleroger, drvrtech77 and 2 others Thank this. -
But last week, a House oversight investigation purported that not only was Yellow unqualified for the funds, it also violated the terms of the CARES Act relief program by spending the money on losses that predated the pandemic. -
Did Yellow commit fraud?? Who actually stands as being responsible in giving Yellow the 700 millions. The 700 millions came right out of the pockets of the middle class and the government gave it to a bunch of con artists who undoubtedly went out and had a grand party at the expense of working class people. Now these con artists are trying to put the blame on the Teamsters for their dwindling bank account.
