Word to the wise: our health eventually fails us. Your dreams of being your own man with unending good health sometimes ends in a sterile hospital room with tubes down your throat.

What a personal private hell. Imagine having to RELY on someone for ANYTHING! *puffs chest out*

Yeah, I've heard the intellectually lazy union guys refer to non-union guys as scabs, and it's like...not until they cross a picket line. Lol

Lol! Thanks. I didn’t know we will all get old and die. Do you pass the hat for everyone? Or just those who’ve drank the kool-aid?

    Bean Jr. Thanks this.

And the real horror is when the dying individual finds out the nurse is Union. I know first hand because I am married to one.

Does she refuse to help scabs? Will she rifle through their pockets and give them the finger?

I haven’t asked her about Scabs, but I have learned not to try her. She grew up poor and they only ate if they killed something.

That’s ok. I don’t have a problem with her being in the union, or you or even LTLannoying.

I’m not mad at someone for crossing a picket line either. It doesn’t concern me, but I can certainly understand if the only way I could eat was when I killed something and I was offered great money to cross a picket line. Well…. Who knows.
I do know I will feed my family and some Internet goon talking tough doesn’t factor in the equation.

by the way, you are not said goon.

    JoeyJunk Thanks this.

LMAO, actually, as some capable of self thought, I'm why labor will advance. I'm capable of thinking for myself, I'm capable of working on my own, and succeeding without a "brotherhood" to defend me. I don't need a "brotherhood" to tell me what I'm worth, what I should earn, how I should live, I have a brain, it works just fine. When Uncle Jimmy tells you to jump, how high do you jump? When Jimmy tells you to polish his shoes, do you start with the heel or the toe?

LMAO, Jimmy Hoffa earns $419,900 annually, how much do you earn? How much will your pay increase following the strike, how much will Jimmy's increase? When Jimmy takes the G-V to events, does he bring you along or do you travel in coach on your own dime, while he travels private, on your dime. BTW, per the NLRB, there are 20 various "leaders" of the teamsters earning more than $200K annually, and 6 earning more than $300K, if the union is about equality, why don't you, why are they so special? There are more than 100 union "leaders" earning more than $150K annually, I hope you do, if not you better be demanding equality.

Twice in a row with the name calling, somehow, not surprised, what's next, death threats, oh, wait, that comes below. That's all you got, name calling and death threats, actually, that is all you got, that's the union mentality, huff, puff, insult and threaten.

And yet, you did address me. So no, we're not done, unless you'd like to block me.

Then what, what exactly will you do, please, be specific, I enjoy a good death threat.

    Actually you will

So let's take this one a little serious. January 2022, UFCW local 7 in Denver went on strike against King Soopers/Kroger. Several dozen members crossed the picket line out of necessity, including the young guy Asst. deli manager at my local store. See, he's a perfect example, his wife stays at home to care for their disabled child, confined to a wheelchair with a rare form of MS, requiring constant, around the clock care. Strike pay doesn't cut it, he needs a real paycheck coming in. Never once did he or anyone else hear of a hat being passed around to help his family out so he could go on strike, no, the rest of the slobs thought only of themselves. I bet you're a good slob, you'd be the first to start the hat...no I doubt you would, you'd rather give him the finger. Then, once the strike ended, UFCW 7 threatened him and everyone else who crossed the lines with legal action, regardless of the reason they crossed the lines. Thankfully courts struck down these threats, even the usual liberal media lap dogs backed down. Yep, that's an organization I want to be part of, you'll threaten the bread winner with a severely disabled child, but you won't pass the hat, you'll gladly threaten him with fines and his job, but you won't pass the hat. So my thoughts on your hat, and your threat to pull money out of it, shove it where the sun doesn't shine (edit: I'd take my opinion deeper, but I'd rather not earn a boot from the mods).

Oh, let's continue with Local 7 for a minute. In 2009, when then President Ernie Duran retired, in addition to his gold watch, the Union also bought him a 2009 F-350 dually to tow around his 40' travel trailer (it's widely believed the union paid for part of that too). At the same time, his daughter, who was also his personal lawyer retired, the Union bought her an Escalade, Ernie's son was also a union director, he initially took a demotion to a different position, but then retired a couple months later, nepotism at it's finest. The Sec.-Treasurer of local 7 also retired, with a new car courtesy of the union. Prior union leaders, going back to 1973 were shocked at the amount spent, none of them had received a car. They also granted the daughter an endorsement and a campaign donation in her run for the State House, although a couple weeks later they rescinded that endorsement and asked for their money back. It should be noted that the woman who defeated Mr. Duran, Kim Cordova, ran on a platform of reform, that she would clean house and change things, and she hasn't there's dozens of claims of shady business deals, shady expenditures, when she was interviewed prior to last years strike, a couple of members called the radio show she was on to ask her questions, when the host took the first call, Ms. Cordova promptly hung up, and stated she would only do the interview if they agreed not to take callers. It should also be noted that, that Mr. Duran and his daughter, both disputed the validity of the election that saw him ousted, and instead called on rank and file members to go on strike in protest

So let's delve deeper into your precious teamsters, in 2022, at the urging of blue collar Joe, we the taxpayers cut you f-ers a check for $36 billion to shore up your underfunded pension plan, guess you aren't paying enough into it, maybe at your next national convention Uncle Jimmy might want to propose quadrupling your dues to boost that money and start paying us back. Which begs this question, what exactly are we the taxpayers getting for giving you $36 billion?

The Dept. of Labor Office of Labor-Management Standards (OLMS) which investigates unions, from 2000 to 2019, OLMS investigated and recovered $156.3 million in restitution from 2,100 criminal cases. Those OLMS investigations led to 2,297 indictments and 2,166 criminal convictions. In that same period, OLMS investigation has resulted in more than $1 BILLION in fines, restitutions and forfeitures. Of all unions in the US, per Dept. of Labor audits, less than 5% passed without issues or concerns.

Like how you rely on the rest of the union to keep your job? Just curious, if the union dissolved tomorrow, would you past work be enough to merit keeping your job?
