Companies that don't require refresher after more than three years of absence?

I was told recently by a fellow driver that most companies will want to put you with a trainer for 6 weeks if you've been out of trucking for more than 36 months. I had three consecutive years of otr experience prior to my time spent out of the industry. Now I'm looking for options for otr companies that don't require retraining or only require minimal time with a trainer (1-2 weeks).

The six weeks I was told sounds extreme. I remember a while ago hearing that there were lots of companies that wouldn't require refresher training. Has that changed since the industry has been in the gutter?

Most companies these days will holler a refresher needed if out for say 6 mths. - 1 year. Liability issue they say. Which is understandable for some. What state do you live in? Preference on freight?

Going to be going back to the US from a long period living out of the country, so I dont live in any state, and consequently do not require being anywhere specific for hometime.
My preference would be dry van freight. I like driving the northern and western states. Prefer companies that stay out instead of going out and back from one city all the time.

    Requirements:
    No driver-facing cameras
Passenger program from day one (or as soon as the refresher is over - no solo period after refresher)

    Preferences:
    A good APU
    A good Inverter
Decent-sized fridge or the room to put one in that I buy
    Catscale app
Transponders for tolls and avoiding weigh stations.
A company that would pay more for someone willing to take off time wherever they are on the road, instead of always demanding to go home to the same city or town every couple weeks. In all fairness that should pay more, because the company wouldn't have to broker loads to get the driver home all the time.
Prefer doing resets vs. always running recaps.

Driving record clean. Clean DAC. Nothing else I can think of that would be a hang up. Passenger and I both have US passports. HM expired, but could jump through the hoops to re-obtain.

Thought I'd add that I'd be willing to do tanker or conestoga jobs too. Especially if I'm going to be required to do a refresher no matter what. I figure if I have to go with a trainer, than it might as well be to learn something different. I really don't feel a trainer is necessary to go back to dock bumping.

If you can prove you can do the job why should you have to do so? Think it may be due to legal reasons, plus the fact that they'll get another truck doing team on the cheap.

Please no reefer suggestions. Although that is a very tempting option, since they say they look for primarily cross country loads. I'm familiar with reefer loads. Not sure I would pull the trigger. My main issue is that I like to keep a schedule. Which means if I spend all day at a shipper, I won't start driving until the following day. I won't attempt to log a ten hour break at the shipper in order to drive that night. The other thing is that I don't like those graveyard hour appointment times. Those really throw me off too. Maybe that's just a question of talking to recruiting to see if I could work something out with operations?

So what's the word is there something set in stone about 36 months? Is that where companies draw the line? I was told that 36 months or more out of the industry and it would be 6 weeks of refresher training. Is that BS?
