I do regen and soot immediately after regen come back at 2/3…I don’t know what to do…Put all 6 new injectors. New EGR cooler last year…Have an APU and heater this thing idle on minimum

You have an old emissions volvo truck?

Await next hurricane and park it where the eye will make landfall.

Then get a different truck, one that's not an old emissions truck.

Has the air filter been checked? The air piping and charge air cooler should be pressure or smoke tested for leaks. Are there any codes? SCR has nothing to do with soot. It is to reduce NOx along with the DEF fluid. Need to have someone hook up a laptop with software. There are normal ranges for a lot of parameters such as NOx in and NOx out of the aftertreatment, several temperature sensors. See what is out of range. How many miles on the truck? DPF's don't last forever. May have DOC, Diesel Oxidation Catalyst which is before the DPF. Some DPF's have a catalyst which wears off over time and becomes inactive and can't do the job it was designed to do. One thing the DOC does is reduce particulate matter (soot).

Common mistake is not understanding how whole system works. Take DPF down and check how sooty is DPF face. If there is lot of black soot you need to check engine for excessive soot. Start engine and perform snap test for smoke. Valves, injectors, compression, turbo.

Need to know what engine. From there, post your recent faults codes and a current regen history report.

First check for engine codes and that DEF fluid is actually depleting with the attempted regens.

More than likely it’s time for a new DPF… they don’t last forever!

One problem could be that the shop that “cleans” out your DPF may very well not! know what they’re doing.

Most shops give you an exchange DPF that supposedly has been cleaned. The purpose for the exchange is to reduce downtime.

A 2013 original DPF has probably outlived its usefulness… time to invest in a new DPF.

When you say new DPF you mean new filter?

Yes, The DPF is large as a muffler… Diesel Particulate Filter.

The emission system on that Volvo is more than likely the 2010 version… they were the beginning of the new EPA requirements that went into effect for 2010 engines. Many truck makes had issues with the DPF clogging way too soon… even after supposedly being cleaned out by a shop. The fix was almost always to purchase new DPF.

The cleaning out of DPFs is a challenge for many shops to get it done properly. And almost always the shop kept your DPF and gave you an exchange that was already cleaned out. Problem with the exchange is you’re getting another truck’s DPF and have no idea what condition it is.
