Which one of those lanes has a merge left or right sign?

 

Are those both "main" roads or is one of them a secondary road merging?

 

If no sign and one is not a secondary road merging the lack of signage should be reported.

 

Thank you for the nomination. Since I am not familiar with this coveted award, do you get a certificate ( suitable for framing) decals, gift cards to places you never heard of?

Perhaps you should understand words and meanings. Also the legal aspects of terminology. If you did, you would understand the context of the comment.

 

I know that ramp quite well. Unfortunately there's a lot of people who do not pay attention to the fact that the hammer lane merges into the right lane before the ramp merges onto the East Freeway (and then the right two lanes become exit-only). It was a piss-poor design.

 

Not if you pull a tanker or a flatbed.

 

While you're getting mad at this driver for not paying attention to their surroundings, consider that you were entirely aware of what was going on and still decided it would be a good idea to pass them. I'd be surprised if the speed limit at the time was 75 as well.

 

His description is clear, it gives a situation that clearly tells that the other driver had no need to merge lanes so no he really didn’t expect a sudden lane change for no reason. Your logic is flawed!
