I would stick with dry van over reefer, all things being equal. Reefer always had many more load/unload delays and fewer drop and hooks. Some of the dry van carriers have done a good job prioritizing teams to keep them moving. LTL would be the best, if you don't mind the doubles. Traditional outfits first, but it seems like there are always Fedex Ground guys looking for teams and they can offer some pretty attractive deals.

Team company? Look in North Carolina, they seem to have a few that fall under the radar. Hardy Brothers, WLA, Cooke, all come to mind.
