You all convinced me to go for hazmat. I will start learning and I will go and get tanker and hazmat first, then also doubles/triples.
But untill I will be able to do that, do you have any recommendation for work with daily home time?

    @System76 --

The current CDL job market -- combined with the opportunities available in & around your area -- are a beautiful illustration of the above posts (all combined).

To clarify: pretty much everything out there (as of this writing) wants those endorsements -- or they want more CDL driving experience (minimum one year, or more in many cases) -- or both.

Without all that -- you have unwittingly painted yourself into a corner, job-wise.

Nonetheless -- I did find ONE job opportunity that is local -- that will hire you (on paper, at least) as you are now (but it's flatbed duty):

    Gypsum Express -- CDL A req'd -- no endorsements needed -- home daily -- don't screw this one up -- you're welcome

Suggestion: if you are in fact hired -- keep the above gig for AT LEAST ONE YEAR (& longer is of course, even better). It's good experience.

Thank you. I called them next morning and they said, they already have someone.
But I got lucky and I was able to get local job at Schneider. It's same account I work 2 years ago, so I am super excited. It's Chep dedicated.
Daily jobs are in high demand.
Schneider always have available jobs posted online. But daily jobs show up and they are usually gone in 5 minutes. Its crazy.

Follow-up: not exactly sure what's really going on over at Gypsum Express. o_O

As I write this -- they are advertising for drivers all over the place down here.....:dontknow:

Based on what I've seen elsewhere down in this area....they seem to want FAR more than just "a driver".

Anyway -- good on you with Schneider.

With the current markets being thin with freight and heavy with capacity, companies can be more selective on candidates.
Having a squeaky clean record moves you to the head of the line, while each mark against you moves you further and further to the rear.
While there’s lots of ads for drivers, often they’re loading their talent pool base to pull from down the line.
I applied to mc tank 2 years ago, but wasn’t qualified at the time.
Soon as i hit their minimum threshold, they started blowing up my phone.
It’s a proven method to fill seats, though frustrating as hell for drivers looking for something now.
