oh, you don't have to tell me the costs of a hobby....

guns, ammo, reloading equipment it all adds up, this i know all too well

and yes, i saw a picture of that mustang on the table and someone had his hand next to it.....they are large for sure.

My dad and I often joked about the cost of our hobbies and said that everyone else got the cheap ones before we could....

Initially, I took this project as something to do that was better than sitting with my thumbs up my %%$$$, but since I lost my dad (just after Thanksgiving last year after a stroke in 21 that he never recovered from), it's become more.... I had started just before that, but since it's been an opportunity for me to escape into those memories of projects, conversations, and life lessons we had.... it's been comforting as I dealt with the loss in my own way, and in many ways, invaluable in my mind as I continue to work through it. I did have to put it aside initially as it was too painful in my mind.

Good for you, but alcohol is not something that appeals to me in any way, I've lost too many friends and seen what addiction to AOD(Alcohol/other drugs) can do.... if I have a beer, it's when I KNOW I'm home and not getting behind the wheel anytime soon.....

I build and play with 3d printers. The printer is fully DIY, and then once it's built and tuned I push plastic to make models. Engines, rockets, even started looking into RC cars that are mostly printed parts. Although there are printers out there that will work in a truck, I will admit this is very much a home based hobby.
Although you could build models on the road and print the parts on the home time.

I run so hard my time is completely filled. Even an ounce of spare time is spent sleeping. If by some miracle I’m waiting to load, I clean my truck.

I'd buy most of that, but I call BS in the fact that you have never had to wait out of your truck for several hours while a repair is done.... just a few weeks ago, I had my air compressor blow and, even after waiting overnight (where I could sleep in my truck) for the part, I was still not allowed to be in the truck for most of 8 hours while the work was being done.

The wait time sure sucked LESS with a project.... for me and the technician; because I was able to leave him alone and not ask every 30 minutes when I could GTFO.....

In 16 years I’ve never been towed and never had work done outside of my local mechanic at my house. I can do most work myself and carry a fair amount of tools.

    Oxbow Thanks this.
