Since you got towed into Peterbilt in my opinion it’s the tow driver’s baby until the job is complete. He should’ve been the one to make sure the brakes were set before he unhooked his truck from yours. It’s not even realistic to expect the driver of the truck getting towed to jump in and set the brakes, I would think most tow drivers wouldn’t want the truck driver anywhere around the cab for fear of something happening on accident.

That said at the op. If your getting a new bumper look into a 2 in 1 like this Peterbilt 579 2022+ Ali Arc Quick Release Bumper Grill Guard they are pretty sturdy protect from critters and look nice for not a heck of a lot more then a normal bumper.Siinman, Long FLD and scottied67 Thank this. -

OP...
Don't even argue with them, you'll mostly get nowhere and calling a lawyer will take time...
Just call YOUR insurance and report it..give names, tow company, date and pic..
Your insurance doesn't want to pay for it (they will if they have too) so they will go after the tow truck company and their insurance to pay it so they don't..
Had my Volvo towed and the tow truck damaged my catwalk and cab extender.. they were being complete butt heads about it... I went to the motel and called my insurance.
10min later I was on a 3-way call with my insurance and the tow company. The lady from the tow company was so sweet i almost went into diabetic shock.... after the call was ended the insurance lady said..."ya that's how it always goes when we call"
By the time the dealer was done with the engine repairs it had a new painted cab extender and catwalk installed by the dealer at the tow company's expense...
BTW the paper you signed is for "REASONABLE" that would done like pulling you out of a dutch where the truck could be damaged... reasonable WOULD NOT be hook8ng you up on the side of the roed, or in my case having the truck so high that the trailer slammed into my catwalk or mak7ng a turn to tight that the trailer hit the cab extender.... kinda like dump trucks with signs saying "stay back 150ft, not responsible for windshield damage" doesn't legally absolve them from having to pay...drvrtech77, beastr123, gentleroger and 4 others Thank this. -
Every time I’ve had a truck towed I chock the tires, get underneath it, pull the driveshaft and cage the 30/30’s while I’m waiting for wrecker to show up. That way he doesn’t have to get all greasy and sweaty. When truck is being dropped I reverse the process that way I know everything is put back and adjusted safe and correct. Heck I even supply my own cribbing blocks and chains.
No one has mentioned caged 30/30’s and tow man not chocking tires?singlescrewshaker, Feedman, Siinman and 1 other person Thank this. -
