maybe brokers should put their big brains together and figure this problem out... they are always touting how good they are at moving freight from behind the desk... yet they havent even scratched the surface of this and want every carrier to jump thru 500 hoops to get a load instead of going after the root of the problem... ridiculous

It can probably be said that the root of the problem is that anyone can get authority for $300.

So they send a picture of one of their trucks, easy.
Anyone can call and say they are the driver.

Probably the only way would be to have both brokers and trucking company named on the BOL and shipper has to ask driver that info when he checks in.
If something does not match, then shipper has to turn driver away.

so whats the cutoff on price? at 20k for authority, you would still have scammers.... they are only applying bandaids to the problem by doing this verification stuff... the problem will continue until these guys are prosectued and put in prison.. which takes action from the government.. but they dont give 2 ####s about it.

Every company has an ISS (Inspection Selection System) score that is tied in to the CSA program. When the scale system runs your DOT number, this ISS score pops up. The better your company score, the less you get inspected or don't get the bypass signal. If your company score is in the crapper, then......

it only works for small shippers.. the big ones that have communication problems and useless employees working in the office do not care at all..most times anytime i have a problem with a pickup number or anything used to check in.. 9 times out of 10 it is at a big corporation.. because there is to many people involved that dont communicate to eachother.

If you've got any grand ideas on that, I'm all ears, my man. It's like playing whack-a-mole. You smack one down, and there's three more that pop up. Like I said, this is the first time in over six thousand loads I've gotten popped. Despite people vigorously tracking them, reports going out, and all kinds of other stuff on our end, it's just getting worse out there.

I don't want to have to play silly games and make you guys jump through hoops. In an ideal world, our exchanges are brief, courteous, and we both walk away feeling everything is good to go, you know? That's what I vastly prefer. I wish the government would go after these guys. I wish DAT and ITS were faster to pull the plug when they get caught out.

I shared this because I believe in being transparent; I've always tried to show the good with the bad, and I've always tried to show the good with the bad as far as my side of the industry goes.

i was not reffering to you as a broker.. i know you are one of the better ones out there... there is just so many brokers that think they are gods gift to earth, playing superman to the freight market.. but yet i find it funny double brokering is always the carriers fault and its always the small guys trying to make a honest living that get punished for it... it is litterally called double brokering.. so why are the carriers being blamed for it and why are we having to jump thru 500 hoops to get a load that doesnt pay worth a god #### in the current market... you are right.. if the load boards cared about anything other then collecting a subscription fee every month, they could probably put a stop to it pretty quick... unfortunately nobody in a position of power cares. because they more people that sign up the more money they make...

If shippers start experiencing lawsuits or other monetary losses, they will make sure that employees do their job, it's hard only until everyone gets used to it
