If ATA or come crying mom activist outfit had proposed that trucks all be equipped with drug test/lockout devices that required drivers to prove they were sober before driving the weed supporters and others would have lost their minds. However if the conversation starts with the weed supporters expressing the "why can't I just light up as casually as a beer drinker" then that group supports what they would not have supported. The world is drowning in irresponsible people making excuses for being irresponsible. We don't need more people being more irresponsible and just redefining responsible to mean less than it once did.
The rules are what they are and even if they changed then someone would complain about those rules. If it's just a harmless plant nobody should worry about, why is it people are willing to ignore the warnings about testing and lose jobs. The leading weed legalization group took 40 years to get it legal in some places. Doesn't that speak to whether weed saps motivation and makes one more creative? Weed smokers want what they want and they make excuses to have it.
There is no better test for measuring responsibility than telling someone you will be tested and if you used you will be fired or banned from the industry. How would all of us like to have a lengthy complicated discussion with some office flunky to prove we are sober before starting the truck? The combination of people wanting to be irresponsible and other people wanting to be protected from every harm is what is building the future prison state. No moral judgments but govt surveillance of everything. Big Brother doesn't stop monitoring what you do. He monitors what you want plus what I want plus what she wants plus what every other guy wants. Disagreeing with a policy doesn't mean it doesn't apply. And nobody is required to agree before being punished by a policy. It could not be simpler to comply but people are blowing up their job every day. It's called dope for a reason.
Should we be able to use cannabis on our time off?

Weed users KNOW they will be tested. They have endless discussion about how long it is detectable in the user after use. They keep using it. Maybe the weed users should develop different tests for THC and get those tests past the Feds and courts and THEN use it. Instead they use it and whine the tests aren't fair.
It sure looks are an effective IQ test to me.Last edited: Jul 26, 2023
