Just checking how are the rates?

I didn't look at load boards for months. Any improvement? My customer lowered our rate recently. I can't bargain with him when things are looking dim.

    JoeyJunk and Rideandrepair Thank this.

The rates themselves aren’t the problem. Sure they’re competitive. The real problem is Brokers keeping 40-60%. Too many Trucks.

Are you for real? I knew they keep some, but I didn't think it's that much at the moment.

I don’t know that they are keeping that much, but they are trying to make up for 2021.

I think I’m going to send my Truck to auction. I can make $1500 a week Local without all the headaches.

Well for example. I just did a 225 mile Load for $1100. Same lane is usually $550-$750 every day. It originally paid $800. However it was a problem loading it. After wasting a few hours, I said F it, I’ll load it myself. Too late in the day, and I need to get home. Give me $1000. He says I’ll give you $1100. Whatever $1000 is good. After 5 hrs of screwing around, I finally got it loaded. Told him I earned the $1100, and would kindly accept. He says, I already settled for $1000. I say Listen you got a bargain. Very good service. Everyone’s happy, I want $1100. I get $1100. At delivery, the receiver asks if I was compensated enough, and if he owed me anything. Lol, really!!! I accidentally said no, I got $300 extra already. Total $1100. Then quickly told him I shouldn’t say how much I made. No problem he says. It’s forgotten. He then says he originally paid $1400, but got increased to $1600, for my Loading fee. Everyone on both ends worked together to make it happen. Broker made $500 instead of the original $600. Bottom line is everyone agreed the Broker was the problem. So how much is the average $675 Load paying a Broker? Probably $1100-$1200 minimum.

Anything paid out 90 days prior to the filing the court can require to pay back.

Rideandrepair, Dave_in_AZ and 77fib77 Thank this.

Just keep it? When bounces back go back. Local for a while won't hurt.
