About that Tulsa local driver with the bad attitude, does he drive truck 1687? Could be wrong, but that dude was TOXIC! Complaining about his new freightliner in the shop for the fourth time with oil pan issues while I was there for my first issue with same. Cursed everything and everybody. Saw him the next day at the Fremont yard getting fuel and asked where his load was going, he said, "oh no. I don't trust anybody with that information." Dude has got to be a loaner. NO social skills at all. Hates everybody and everything. Hard to believe FCC hired him.

It's been a day. Had another screwed up night so I didn't get home till 7. Left enough time to grab a bite and a quick shower before a divorce hearing at 9. Got the plane tickets in the email this afternoon. No checked bag included in the ticket they bought and my carry on sized bag wandered off years ago (don't fly much) so ordered one off of Amazon . Went out with the wife tonight and spent a couple hours talking. Went well I think.
Buddy at work has been after me about what an idiot I am for quitting. Held me up a bit Wednesday night because he called and spent about half an hour after me. He's a good guy and I know it's coming from a place of genuine concern but it was starting to get on my nerves. Actually had me doubting myself then I went to the Warehouse and was reminded how the office folk think of drivers (and how bleeping dysfunctional the place is). Yeah.
I'm going to miss the money. I still love my work bros and I'll miss them. I'll miss being the big fish in a small pond. In happier times, the Wife joked about me being the 'work mom" and I'm going to miss taking care of my drivers.
It's going to suck being the low guy on the totem pole. But it also sounds kind of nice not to feel responsible for keeping the place running.
So I'll be in Fremont next Monday, the 7th, and doing orientation on the 8th.

You won’t be made to feel like the low man on the totem pole. You will feel like part of the family from day one, as cliche as it sounds. Welcome aboard, and if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask.

I thought he was in 1703 maybe, it was a white freightliner. But his truck could have been in the shop. Don't know why he would have been in Fremont unless that was the case. He was a tall skinny black guy with cornrows or something. Unfortunately, maybe we have another one with that attitude.... I did talk to Erik about him, and he already knew all about him!! Of course couldn't give details, but I was assured he wouldn't be with FCC much longer. Hopefully it's the same guy and we don't have another bad apple

With the exception of a couple bad apples mentioned here, it’s a level playing field at FCC. I never encountered a soul who didn’t know an answer, or at least said I’ll find out. Great place to work. Now if drivers would just sweep out their trailers b4 dropping……..
