Do you already have a CDL?
Do you have mobility issues? -
No CDL I'm looking for training and using my veterans benefits I've been traveling in my RV up and down east coast and I just figured I'd do it for a living

Here in Florida and no mobility issues just my one hand limitation

@Grifster --
I'm in extreme southern GA. I started driving the big rigs at age 56.
My latest gig: hazmat tanker, hauling fuel. Home daily.
In case you weren't already aware -- currently, the general freight market is in a pretty bad slump. Thus, many carriers have tightened up their hiring requirements. It's a tougher hunt than say, 12 months ago.
If you can routinely drive & park a class "A" RV successfully -- then there may be a place for you within the industry....depending on the nature of your disability.
Most fleets by now have either mostly (or completely) gone to tractors with automated transmissions -- so the tractor is now doing that work for you.
Most fleets love to hire veterans. But...be advised...they will ask you in rather great detail about your military history, your driving record, and your criminal history (if any). And of course -- they will also want to know all the details of your disability.
Being in Florida is also problematic. Many carriers don't like hiring out of Florida. This is especially true, given the current crappy freight environment--& depending on where you are in Florida.
Without knowing where you live in Florida (nearest city, &/or zip code)...it's pretty tough to tell you much more....& give accurate info.
