Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

As Alan and LMB have already stated, go to JCT and start reading. All your questions and more will be answered there. We have OVER 325 pages chocked full of information for you.
If you are not willing to help yourself by reading this information on your own, than JCT is NOT for you. This is NOT a company that will hold your hand, cuddle you up in a nice warm comfy hug, and baby you every step of the way. JCT wants drivers who can get the job done. One of the ways you get the job done is by being able to LEARN ON YOUR OWN.
Go forth and READ !! Pretend you are trying to learn something new and READ this information for yourself FIRST.
THEN, feel free to ask any other questions. We are here to help but you have to be able to help yourself also.
No I am not being rude. This is exactly what I did. I have been with JCT for 2 months now and every question I had, was already answered in the JCT forum.
Heck, there were answers there to questions I hadn"t even thought of yet.
My first post on the JCT forum was letting everyone know I called JCT recruiting and had signed up. I did not even have to ask any questions as the answers to my questions were already there for me in writing.

Many company drivers do not understand the pay structure of a lease or owner op.
When a driver becomes an independent contractor (lease op, owner op is considered the same to the IRS) they receive 100% of their pay rather than having taxes with held. They are no longer "employed" per se so the company no longer has to pay for half of the employees social security, medicare, workers comp, disability, or life insurance.
In a lease op situation the company with holds payment for the truck, fuel (if you used the company provided fuel card), maintenance escrow, and any other "fees" you agreed to when you signed the lease contract.
It is the lease operators responsibility to pay his or her quarterly taxes which may include federal, state, and local as well as social security and medicare.
Depending on the carrier and the contract a lease op may also be responsible for fuel taxes, road taxes and the Heavy Highway use tax.trucker43 Thanks this. -
the trucks are 2 to 5 years old with 180k to 480k miles. they are in great condition and very well maintaed except for the tires. they swear by recaps. When i was there i would run 4k to 6k mile a week. You will make money but the headache of dealing with this company aint worth the money you will make, or killing yourself or someone else.

On the main jct thread this guy posted nothing but over exaggerations of absolutely the same stuff you have to do if you were with any other reefer company. They require you to do TWO check calls each day with the temps. ONE in the morning with your hours so they know how to plan you accordingly. This driver right here is intentionally falsifying information to both the company and dot. Therefore when he's not happy he blames everyone but himself.
Once again unlike this sour apple here, JCT DOES NOT FORCE YOU TO TAKE A LOAD. They might get upset at first but if you don't stand up for yourself its your own dam(n) fault!!!!!!trucker43 Thanks this. -
you're able to walk away from the lease with no penalty if things aren't working, is that correct?
