Nebraska calls it an assembled title. One major component has to be changed, like the engine. They are buying 389’s with up to 600k miles on them, swapping the engines out, and listing them on Truckpaper as 2023’s “with an assembled title, similar to a glider”.

Right? For 250K i could find a classic 359 in good shape. and have either a brand new engine dropped in or a platinium rebuild. Brand new transmission, new diffs, have the harness replaced, a new 5th wheel brakes tires shocks and bags all the way around, the entire steering rack, a new APU all new lines, and interior with a fancy exterior paint job done and buy a good condition used trailer or even a new one....and still likely come out cheaper, have something i KNOW will easily last a decade or two and was build to my specs.

And thats just the base cost. Add in a loan and your looking at another 50-100K ontop of that easy throw on an APU and any other repairs needed for a "brand new" 500K+ truck.....skys the limit. Course brand new trucks arent going a hell of a lot cheaper....but still.

I have no idea why guys want these square nose trucks for OTR.
I would prefer an early areo truck that gets 8MPG over a brick with 550HP and 3.5MPG.

    Siinman and bzinger Thank this.

There are advantages to a square nose in some applications. And use cases where MPG doesnt matter such as heavy haul or offroad. Also for some reason people are obcessed with the look.

Myself i like both. The 567 is my favorite though. Buddy has a 567 glider with the X vin, has a 3406E in it and still gets 5.8 to 6.2 which for a dump truck is good. Another has a C15 MBN in a 579 and gets 6.4 to my 6.8-7 with my paccrap and thats after my alterations boosting that a good 15%.

That said if i saw a dodge bighorn pop up in my pricerange....well lets just say it would be well loved by its new owner i.e me lol

When I got my Yukon Denali I went looking for a limited Dodge dually with a cummins and a 6 speed. They will never make another and 2018 was the last year. Would be an amazing hotshot truck.

Did you actually mat the accelerator pedal or just like 1/2 throttle…?

it’s like with the slack adjusters.

Officer says romp on the brake pedal to the floor …..

me…. Gives him 20 lbs of air and says” it’s to the floor”
