First, do not sign a thing.

Second contact Human Resources to file a complaint with them because the "safety" moron or whatever you call them needs to convey the policy changes before it applies to anyone - it isn't a case of ignorance of the policy is no excuse situation, it has to be a bonified policy that follows the normal policy-making procedures being followed, most likely a state labor case would tell them that. No one can tell you that you can not talk to anyone in the company.

Third, the other female driver could have been targeted as an embarrassment to a force quit. I have a driver who was the only female driver of a company outside Atlanta and every little thing that she did as a mistake was presented in the safety meetings and she ended up quitting and suing the company - winning because she was the only one talked about.

Fourth, let them fire you and then take them to court for wrongful termination based on my second comment.

    I SIGNED NOTHING!
    I COULD NOT!

The Training lady started adding all this about my resignation, etc...
I told her that she could write whatever she wanted, I wasn't signing a thing.
Human Resources has terminated me / ended my employment, so I am not sure if a complaint would be helpful at this point.
I am trying to find an Employment lawyer, but that does not seem to be possible.
I have no idea who this mystery "dash cam surveillance person is."

NO POLICY was given to any driver about dash cams, fines, etc...
Seriously, nothing has been signed by me as far as anything since I started in 2018 after as these policy changes.
The other female driver who had a ticket was not asked for a driver facing camera.

    I wish I knew her lawyer's name!

Yes, I was fired. I made sure of that.

The way I look at it is (and in deference to @Ridgeline), it's their equipment and they can hang anything they want on it for any reason. Apparently, you chose not to drive THEIR stuff.......and that's YOUR choice.
Frankly, I'd say you have no hope in any kind of court or administrative (unemployment board), meeting.
Like I said, it's their stuff.
Get crackin on finding a new job and move on.
    Good luck.

    wis bang Thanks this.

I love how companies still try to sell the bs that the camera is only on if triggered by a event………

    Opus,
That is it in a nutshell (honestly, whether I like it or not)!
You are definitely right - it's their equipment and legal right.
However, there is discrimination going on (everyone is NOT treated equally), but proving THAT is entirely different ballgame.

Definitely NOT true for this company.
Plus, I know they listened inside my truck (no proof on my end, but they did/do)!

FACT: I got into hauling fuel, in part because I spoke at length about it beforehand -- with at least 2 women -- who were already doing fuel.

As you might guess -- I was impressed with these ladies (professionally speaking, that is).

The main point here being -- don't be intimidated at the prospect of A LOT MORE MONEY -- just because it involves hazmat tanker duty.

However -- should you choose to pursue that work further, understand that:

    • hazmat & tanker endorsements are both req'd
    • In many cases -- the carrier will want you to also have a TWIC card, as well.

The better fuel gigs are (by far!) with the private fleets. Look first at/for:
    • Gemini Motor Transport (Love's)
    • Pilot/Flying J
    • R B Stewart (Buc-ee's)
    • Energy Dispatch (RaceTrac)
Given you driving record -- I think any of the above fleets would welcome an opportunity to talk with you.

Also: I would avoid Circle K.
