Oh, no!
No jealousy! I don't think so? I hope not.
Yes, it would have gotten worse - WAY WORSE! I totally agree.
I've filed the claim and will see how it goes, but you make excellent points.
The ONLY thing that I say about the company when applying for other jobs is I left due to not consenting to a driver facing camera.
That's it.
I say no more.
Is that appropriate?
I wonder what the company is saying when I put them down as a previous employer?
My Driver Facing Camera experience (thoughts, please)?

When a new employer contacts a previous employer, the previous is only supposed to verify yes you were employed and whether you would be rehired.
Oxbow, TheLoadOut and Bonita Nut Thank this. -
Yes, she worked here.
No, she would not be rehired.
That can't sound good.
I have a feeling they are not going to help me in the getting a new job process. -
Long FLD, REO6205 and Bonita Nut Thank this.

This can't be good for me. -

Update about unemployment claim:
GA Dept of Labor (claims examiner) just called.
He asked why was I terminated. I simply said that I did not consent to a driver facing camera in my truck. I did not elaborate at this time.
Maybe I shouldn't have said that?
Maybe I should have said the company said violation of company policy, and make them elaborate?
Did I make a mistake?
He asked if there was any type of written policy as to who gets a driver facing camera in his/her truck. I simply said not that I am aware of.
Which I am not aware of any written policy.
Definitely not about the $150 fine and/or mandatory driver facing camera based on a window reflection with an indirect view of an outward facing dash cam.
He also asked if I had any previous verbal warnings, etc...
I said no.
I told him that I was approached about this late Saturday afternoon by a "Training lady" and terminated by 10am on Monday morning. HR wasn't even present during any of this.
I simply said that I didn't have a chance to work anything out with my employer before being terminated (oh, yes, GA is a work "at-will" state, so it doesn't matter).
I did not get into discrimination, but I said not everyone has a driver facing camera, and I have a clean driving record.
I hope that wasn't too much and will hurt my chances of unemployment?
He said both me and the employer can appeal within 15 days of the original determination.
So, someone (probably me) will be filing an appeal within 15 days, and I'm still trying to find an attorney with my unemployment claim.
Let's see how this goes?
I didn't say too much, because I have NO idea what the company has provided.
Now, I'm super worried that I should have not said anything except violation of company policy?
But, the employer will have to explain what they mean about violation of company policy, and I'm sure they are referring to touching the cell phone. I sure as heck didn't say anything about that, because I am innocent. I will not admit to using a cell phone when I didn't.
Oh, goodness.
Now, I am worried.
Please give me some feedback?Last edited: Aug 22, 2023
slim shady Thanks this. -
The fact that they wanted to put a camera in your truck means absolutely nothing..Speedy356 and Bonita Nut Thank this. -
Then that leads down the "oh no, you touched a cell phone so you are automatically guilty / horrible driver, etc....
That might have to be said on the appeal.
However, I wonder if the company will say this along with what they did about trying to fine me.
This entire unemployment claim stinks!
I truly appreciate your feedback.
